New Services for 2013

At the start of the year, we announced three new services in our monthly letter. For those of you not on our mailing list, here are the details:

  • One Day Redesign Package

Does your living room need a lift? Is your bedroom decor boring, kitchen cluttered and uninviting? Call us to schedule an intervention. Mary will re-purpose items from other areas in your house and supplement as needed from the shops. By the end of the day, your space will be transformed. $395 plus any purchases

  • Color Consultation

Color is one of the most direct and, often, least expensive ways to change how you experience a space. Some colors are serene, others energetic. Starting with an inspiring object, image, or mood, we’ll talk about how color moves you and discover how to situate colors you love within your home.

  • Pre-Sale Assessment

Whether you are bringing your home to market in the next few months or simply strategizing for some time down the road, go beyond staging to consider how best to prepare your home’s look and function.

If you’re interested in any of these offerings, call us or drop us a line on our contact page.

Did you see Mary in the Bee?

Photo - Mary and MaryMary was featured in a brief Bee article about her friend, realtor Mary Tompkins-Fiocchi. (This photo from the article was taken by reporter Merry Mackinnon.) They discussed the local real estate market, including their own mixed-use and live-work projects, concluding that buyers, builders, and realtors “recognize that close-in, stable neighborhoods are a very hot market.” Good news for Woodstock!

Deck the Halls!

Earlier this month, after a little practice and with some helpful instructions from Portland Nursery in hand, we embarked on our first ever ladies’ wreath making party. Each wreath was as unique as its maker and they were all beautiful. Plus, we loved having a chance to catch up with friends. It was so much fun, we’re already planning ahead for next year!

Great Resources for Remodeling

Thumbnail image of the resource listWe sent a resource list to our clients and friends last month. The first half of the list was a bibliography with the subject areas General Information & Inspiration, Accessibility & Aging in Place, and Sustainable Living. We also included a selection of websites on all these topics. If you missed it, feel free to view and download a PDF of the list!

Books in the bibliography are all available at Multnomah County Library and Ft. Vancouver Regional Library. (If you want to check with other library systems, you can find a complete listing by state at publiclibraries.com.)

HOMEmakers presents… March 8, 2012

Our featured speaker, C. Morgan Davis, is an owner of Keller Williams Real Estate. His team is ranked in the top 1% of agents in the US. On Thursday, March 8th, he will make sense of the latest news about the Portland real estate market and explain how it might affect our future.

Doors to the “party room” open at 5pm and the presentation will kick off at 5:45pm. After Morgan finishes his talk around 6:30pm, we’ll have open time for anyone who would like to ask questions or bring up topics for conversation. Light refreshments will be served, and guests are welcome.

You can RSVP by phone, e-mail hmo.rsvp@gmail.com, or use our contact page.

Hope to see you there!

Harvest Party 2011

We were so happy to celebrate our clients last October. The Laurelhurst Club was the perfect venue for our harvest-themed party, with room for both tables and a country line dancing lesson. Bob cooked up his delicious chili recipe while Mary put together a pie tasting that represented bakeries from all over town. And our friend Gary Farrell spun great tunes all evening. (Can you still call it that when the deejay uses a laptop?) Thanks to everyone who attended and to all our clients for making 2011 a success!
